Role overview:
The People Development Manager will bring their expertise to execute the development strategy and ensure its effectiveness in enhancing performance within retail. Responsible for identifying, designing, implementing and evaluating training and development initiatives to ensure all colleagues and management have both operational and leadership knowledge and skillsets to carry out their roles to their best ability, to drive business performance. Working collaboratively with the retail stakeholders to achieve a return on investment.
Responsibilities:
As a People Development Manager, you'll be doing the following:

Scope, design and deliver performance-focused development sessions and coaching activity to retail audiences, in both virtual and face-to-face facilitated sessions.

Work with area & regional managers to improve team KPI delivery, identify trends, and work in partnership to improve areas of concern through effective individual and team development activities.

Conduct follow-up activity to ensure impact after development interventions; and to inform further learning needs and continuously improve our People Development Offering.

Individual and group coaching activities which focus on both personal and professional development to colleagues both on and off development programs.

Role-model a growth mindset throughout the business by staying up to date with, and applying, current theory within Learning & Development and adult learning.

Advocate for and build a learning culture within the group by sharing their learning and facilitating social learning.

Curate high quality content to share across the group to encourage and enable social and self-directed learning.

Uphold ILM Assured quality standards in the delivering of programmes that align.
Role objectives:
- Effectively scope learning needs within the retail arena, using data and evidence as a basis.

Deliver learning interventions that are effective and produce results.

Evaluate the effectiveness of learning, further evidencing ROI.

Coaching individuals for personal and professional development.

Encourage the group’s values through embedding them into learning.

Work with the retail team to ensure new initiatives are embedded into the workforce.
Skills and Experience:

Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.

Competency in individual and group coaching skills and techniques.

High quality, passionate and inclusive learning facilitation skills that create an exciting environment.

Can demonstrate a proven track record of their their ability to deliver learning activity which is focused on performance development and aligned to business objectives.

Experience and ability to scope and design engaging learning experiences that follow proven structure informed by Adult Learning Theory and produce results.

A strong commercial mindset with an ability to analyse data to inform further development needs for the individual, the group and continuously push our development offering.

Strong project management skills.

Excellent computer literacy skills, including MS Office.

An avid learner, with an ambition to progress their personal and professional development and role-model a learning culture.
Training requirements for the role:
- The ideal candidate will qualified to Level 3 in Learning & Development by CIPD or hold other equivalent qualifications.

- This is a field-based role and will require frequent travel across the north region (Scotland, North East, North West, North Wales & Yorkshire)
