Role Overview:
As a Senior Work Experience Advisor, you will play a crucial role in establishing and managing work placements. These placements will take place at our head office and across the wider business. You will also be responsible for continuing to build and enhance our Online Virtual Work Experience platform. This role requires a proactive and organized individual with a passion for mentoring and developing talent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage work placements for students and interns within the retail business, including at our head office and across the wider business.
- Develop and maintain relationships with educational institutions and other partners to source and support work experience candidates.
- Oversee the onboarding process for work experience participants, ensuring they receive the necessary training and support.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of work experience participants, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date records of Work Experience delegates and provide insights.
- Support Colleagues across the business with the provision of Work Experience and provide training and support where needed.
- Track the completion rates for both in-person and virtual work experience programmes, and take responsibility for increasing these numbers.
- Continue to build and enhance our Online Virtual Work Experience platform, ensuring it meets the needs of participants and aligns with business goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure work experience placements are aligned with business needs and objectives.
- Work with the People Experience team to share Work Experience journeys and highlight successes via our internal and external channels.
- Contribute to the innovation and development of our JD UP social mobility programme, ensuring it provides valuable opportunities for participants.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in work experience and virtual learning.
Qualifications/Experience:
- A passion for social mobility and providing pathways for people to learn and grow
- Proven experience in managing work placements or internships, preferably within a retail environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in excel and other Microsoft based programmes.
- Passion for mentoring and developing talent.
- Limited travel required at a local level
