Role Overview:
We are seeking a creative and experienced Content and Design Lead to join our People team within a fast-paced retail company. As the Content and Design Lead, you will have the opportunity to shape our employer brand, making a lasting impact on how we are perceived by current and potential employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both content creation and design, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling. This experienced leader will value creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employer Branding: Develop and implement strategies to enhance our employer brand across various platforms. Working with our People Experience team this role will create compelling narratives that showcase our company culture, values, and employee experiences.
- Content Creation: Produce high-quality content including articles, blog posts, videos, and other multimedia materials. Ensure all content is engaging, informative, and aligned with our branding guidelines.
- Design: Lead the design of Employer branding materials, including digital assets, print materials, and event collateral. Maintain consistency in visual branding and ensure all designs are aesthetically pleasing and on-brand. Work with our In-house Studio team to develop best practice and ensure alignment to the Company Branding and asset packs.
- Budget ownership: Ensure asset briefing and best practice is applied with managing a budget and identifying efficiencies to reduce overall spend.
- Learning and Development: Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to create engaging content and design materials for training programs, workshops, and other educational initiatives. Work with SME’s across the business to build creative e-learning modules with clear and measurable learning.
- Internal Communications: Work closely with the Internal Communications team to design and produce content that fosters employee engagement and promotes a positive work environment via our available channels, including JD Now our colleague communications platform. Ensure that all internal communications are visually appealing and align with our brand.
- Branding Templates: Develop and maintain branding templates for culture events and other company-wide initiatives. Ensure that all materials are on-brand and effectively communicate our company values and culture.
- Team Management: Proven experience of building and leading a team of content creators and designers. Provide guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth. Create pathways for individual development and career progression within the team.
- Project Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced retail environment, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute campaigns and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Experience: Content creation and design, preferably within a corporate or agency setting. Experience in employer branding is highly desirable.
- Managing a team of people and proven experience of coaching and developing.
Skills:
- A large portfolio of existing work demonstrating campaign branding and a consistent approach.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Express & Articulate Rise 360).
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of best practices for content engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
