Role Overview: |
The E-commerce Lead Photographer is a key studio leadership role responsible for overseeing the consistent, high-quality production of product imagery across all brand fascias within a high-volume e-commerce studio environment. They have a deep understanding of each fascia’s visual requirements and style guides, ensuring efficient daily delivery of digital assets that meet commercial objectives. This role requires a blend of operational leadership, hands-on photography expertise, and the ability to develop team members while maintaining high output standards in a fast-paced studio setting. They are accountable for driving productivity, supporting process efficiency, championing best practices, and delivering assets that are optimised for online retail. The E-commerce Lead Photographer actively supports the development of team capabilities and upholds studio quality benchmarks through technical guidance, daily performance oversight, and continuous process improvement.

Key Areas Of Responsibility
- Lead and manage the daily output of the e-commerce photography team, ensuring they are studio-ready by 8:30am.
- Deliver against daily product photography targets across categories including apparel, footwear, and accessories.
- Ensure the team consistently produces high-quality e-com imagery in line with fascia-specific style guides.
- Maintain a strong focus on operational efficiency, minimising reshoots and achieving a low cost-per-product (CPP).
- Own the planning and workflow of daily and weekly photography tasks based on intake forecasts and studio capacity.
- Conduct regular light tests and equipment checks to ensure technical quality standards are met.
- Liaise closely with Studio Operations, Styling, Retouch, and Content Admin to ensure smooth asset progression and timely uploads.
- Provide training and support to junior and midweight photographers to elevate technical and commercial photography standards.
- Monitor team productivity (APPH, ATPP) and performance KPIs to identify areas for support or optimisation.
- Champion adherence to all e-commerce studio procedures including file management, image tagging, and tracker completion.
- Support the Studio Leadership in testing new workflows, lighting setups, and equipment to improve e-com image output.
- Maintain studio kit, flag issues early, and contribute to equipment cost-saving by reducing wear, damage, and downtime.
- Participate in weekly senior planning meetings to communicate upcoming work, resource needs, and team updates.
- Take ownership of quality control checks and support audits by ensuring product presentation standards are met on set.
- Foster a positive, solutions-oriented team environment, addressing underperformance constructively and recognising success.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in high-volume e-commerce photography.
- Proven track record managing a team in a commercial studio setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of Capture One, Canon camera systems, and lighting setups.
- Exceptional understanding of digital image standards for web and retail applications.
- Excellent time management, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of the retail and fashion industry.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Mac and PC environments.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
